TangentKole, Tangent (5.10), Paradise Forks. 08Sept06. A bluebird 70 degree day but there I was in my down coat, and there he was, sweating in a tee-shirt and shorts... I'm soft.

Lisa, almost over the EdgeExcuse my pun. That's Lisa about to gracefully exit the steep handcrack of On the Edge (5.11-). Notice the complete lack of gear for the first 50 feet or so. Screwing up there is NOT recommended. 08Sept06

Chipmunk! The chipmunk of Mt. Charleston and Hillary: cute, tiny, liable to steal your food, and they scamper on limestone! (the chipper is a much better and bolder climber than I am though, alas)

My "summer legs"I don't often wear shorts because I am knock-kneed. But sometimes, when it's really hot, I wear capris. This is what my very sheltered legs look like... good to have in case my headlamp batteries die unexpectedly.

Sam, who is clearly not a dogThis is one of my kitties, Sam. She is a holy terror but I kinda like her anyway. She likes to climb couch aretes, chair slabs, and mattress roofs. I don't know how she lost her eye... I found her that way.

RRCRed Rock Canyon (Colo.) may be SLAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAB but the area is pretty scenic. See the climber? Left-third of the shot.
(I don't know what route this is, or even if I got the right wall, but the RDB isn't likely to change significantly since the guidebook authors have issued a plea to keep that off the net.)

Madison sez: sup?Madison isn't really a crag dog. He's a soft, senior citizen city dog. But I think he's zozo's best friend anyway. Here he works the crowd at "zozopalooza 06."

Hil in the woods #1The rock in Castlewood Canyon kinda weirds me out, but where it's not total choss, it climbs well. Anyway, here's a little problem in the Fountainbleau area. Photo by Alex.

Hil in the woods #3I don't know why I boulder. I'm not any good at it. But on the plus side, Alex takes a nice photo of me trying.

Penny-edgingPenny-edging: when you're not hardcore enough for dime-edging. This penny and several other coins (including a nickel, dime, and Canadian and U.S. pennies) were bashed in a seam at the Colonel Birdseye crag near Windy Point/Goosehead. Looked like they'd been there a while...
