Rapping off Monkey Face

Average Rating = 3.97/5 Rapping off Monkey Face

A couple of climbers rapping off Monkey Face Spire. Bohn Street is just to the left of the upper notch, (right side of the spire). The bolt ladder for the Pioneer route goes pretty much straight up from there, into the mouth cave. P1 of Monkey Space goes left, then up into the base-of-the-skull cave

Hermaphrodite Flake Chimney

Average Rating = 3.50/5 Hermaphrodite Flake Chimney

Low quality photo of David hip-belaying from the top of a sweet chimney. Not for the claustrophobic.

A welcome rest.

Average Rating = 0.00/5 A welcome rest.

Davidji in the rest stance on AC Devil Dog. This is on my short list of favorite sport climbs. The sun was just at the edge of the pillar, which made it hard to photograph. Photo by mungeclimber.

Toproping Full Body Stem

Average Rating = 0.00/5 Toproping Full Body Stem

Davidji in a full body stem, December of 2000. Heart of Darkness is the finger crack to the climber's right. Very low image quality, but it's the only photo here of these two climbs.

Coffin nail on the Cave Route

Average Rating = 0.00/5 Coffin nail on the Cave Route

Typical bolt on the Cave Route, Pine Canyon, Mt Diablo. All the bolts on the Cave Route are about like this. Except for the last one, which I think is worse. They're hard to clip too--you might need small biners.
