Unknown boulders with a soft landing of sand beneath

Average Rating = 3.00/5 Unknown boulders with a soft landing of sand beneath

Here's two guys I don't know bouldering at the caves at Long Beach in Dunedin, New Zealand. The cave here is amazing with grippy unforgiving basalt and a nice padding of sand to land on.

Raf at the North Caves boudlering! Can you beleive it!

Average Rating = 3.33/5 Raf at the North Caves boudlering! Can you beleive it!

Here's a couple of boulderers at the North Caves. This place is so well setup it crazy to think that it's natural. The guy in the green shirt is on the V4 traverse. Raphaelle is ona V1 that ends a little more to the left of where she is.

My old Pink Rope finally living the retired life

Average Rating = 0.00/5 My old Pink Rope finally living the retired life

Here's a snap of a rope door mat that I made out of the first climbing rope that I owned. It's fabulous.... and all those years it spent straightened out and hiding away in the dark to avoid breakdown.... now it's curled up taking a good nap and enjoying lot's of beautiful sunshine.

Yellow Shoes, Orange Pants, and A Red Wall

Average Rating = 0.00/5 Yellow Shoes, Orange Pants, and A Red Wall

Ernesto has fall colors on even though it's a balmy 35 degree Celcius day as he goes as second on Security. Busy spot with climbing courses often offered in this part of the Escarpment as evidenced by the people on the left.

Average Rating = 3.00/5 Rapahaelle nears the top of THE GOOD BOOK. Lie Back and Enjoy!

Camping trip to Lac du Poisson Blanc.... what more could you ask for... free camping.... free climbing.... beautiful weather and warm water. We used one of the canoes at the bottom for a boat belay a little later. Great times. Well.... big wall for a top rope. We were at the end.

Average Rating = 0.00/5 Raf climbs Neruda - Security right next door

Here Raf finishes up on Neruda (5.6) (TR or trad) with Security (5.10+) right next door (2 Bolts) and Al on the Run 5.11 (4Bolts) next to that. All in all... a fun wall.

Giome tries his luck on poutine.. the far right crack on this slab of rock directly next to our campsite (just barely off the picture on the left) on Lac du Poisson Blanc.

Raf on the wall with lots of lichen

Average Rating = 2.00/5 Raf on the wall with lots of lichen

This is a shot of Raphaelle, belayed by Krystal on the Leaken Wall. After she came down she decided to call it poutine. A couple of mroe difficult slab routes to the left that we never got a chance to try.

Shane's First Lead Outside

Average Rating = 0.00/5 Shane's First Lead Outside

Here's a snap of Shane Greene's first outside lead on "Alibaba." There is another 5.7 directly next to this climb called "Fern Crack" immediately to the right. (The obvious large crack with ferns growing out of it). Ernesto Schwartz gives a solid belay "I hope!" Ha ha ahaha.

Morning After

Average Rating = 2.00/5 Morning After

It's hard to say whther the day before this or the day that is starting in this picture is my favourite day of the trek. They were both fantastic days. Anyway, here is our camp at 4500 m. Lovely spot. Too bad there wasen't a little less snow. I could of tried to break out the shoes for a bit of bouldering.

Grab the Nose

Average Rating = 0.00/5 Grab the Nose

Here's Floater at Magneto's Face grabbing the nose. you can work your way over and around the nose and back down the other side. The wall is on an overhang back about 25 - 30 degrees which makes it substantially harder to stay on the wall.

Up the scrape at Age 6

Average Rating = 1.50/5 Up the scrape at Age 6

This is a picture of me at age 6 and my Uncle Doc on the way up the scrape to the top of Gros Morne. If you look at the other picture of the whole mountain you will see the scrape that we are on directly in the middle. The cliffs on the other side of the mountain are much steeper.

On the East side

Average Rating = 0.00/5 On the East side

Here's a snap of the approach and some of the cliff on the East Side of the old man. That is, if you look at the other picture of this face focus on the far left of the picture. There is a ridge there. This is the other side of that ridge. This picture was posted just to show that the approach to the base of the face will be steep and rocky.

Our first real day of hiking out in the Andes. Behind me is Salkantay (6271 m). What a fantastic trip. We hiked towards the mountian and then to the right... up and over a beautiful 5000 m pass.

Another Annual Christmas Hike

Average Rating = 3.00/5 Another Annual Christmas Hike

Here's an early morning shot of my buddy Richard's tent in the foreground during a christmas hike to the Blow Me Down Mountains. This is near the end of December. Had it pretty warm later because Richard was walking around with no shirt on. Picture was taken by his buddy Shaun.

Steady Brook Falls

Average Rating = 2.00/5 Steady Brook Falls

Summer time climbing this face would have to be done during low water levels... Otherwise the spray from the falls is just too intense. Plus there might not be any exposed face because it's all covered in water in spring. Also good potential for ice climbing on the sides in the winter.

Ten Mile Lake Cliffs

Some cliffs on Ten Mile Lake near Gros Morne. Those are full grown trees on the scree slope to the left = this cliff is high and unclimbed.

Beneath the Arches

Average Rating = 3.00/5 Beneath the Arches

Try your luck on these overhangs. There's no protection so don't forget you're CRASH PAD..... those rocks are nice and smooth but are not comfortable to land on. The open sea is to the left of this picture so keep towards the right and watch the tide unless you want to get wet. Also watch for loose rock!
