Cam slings trippled

Average Rating = 0.00/5 Cam slings trippled

I sent my C4's in to Yates to have them sew 18" slings on them. They are shown tripled in this pic. The far left is a regular C4 for reference.

Standing on top of owl rock

Average Rating = 0.00/5 Standing on top of owl rock

This is my first summit of Owl Rock, in Moab, UT. I was very glad that I brought hexes with me, because cams sure felt shady, and I could see old skate lines from cams that pulled out.

Lighting by sunset

Average Rating = 5.00/5 Lighting by sunset

Jeff throws me a spot during one of my first visits to this area. Now we climb there after the sun goes down to beat the heat.

Jeff Dynos for the FA

Average Rating = 0.00/5 Jeff Dynos for the FA

This is my buddy Jeff getting a first ascent on a local project at stoney ridge. It was worked on toprope, but would propably go free as a highball boulder problem.

Boulder problem near our campsite.

Average Rating = 3.50/5 Boulder problem near our campsite.

This was one of the cool problems near our campsite at the Vally of Fire State Park. The formations in the rock make for great frames!

Unknown problem at Valley of Fire

Average Rating = 0.00/5 Unknown problem at Valley of Fire

This was a cool problem that I found at Valley of Fire State Park. There was tons of stuff to climb around the park. Just our campsite alone had 8-10 good problems at it . Just remember not to use white chalk on the red stone! We found that the fine red sand works nearly as well as chalk anyway.

Jeff topping out on the asteroid.

Average Rating = 0.00/5 Jeff topping out on the asteroid.

The crux of this problem is getting the pad to stay in the same orbital path as the asteroid. We think he sent the problem, but we were not sure which side was the top. Keep in mind he had to hold his breath the whole time, and it was very cold (about -272.9 degrees celcius). Jeff will do anything for a good photo shoot!

The crux of stumpcrack

Average Rating = 2.00/5 The crux of stumpcrack

This is Kim Sismour begining to crank into the layback on stumpcrack. This is what we consider the crux, the route gets easier once you get past this 6 foot vertical crack.

Unknown climb at Lehigh Gap

Average Rating = 2.00/5 Unknown climb at Lehigh Gap

This climb was very loose and dirty, but we had a lot of fun. We might consider cleaning this area up and setting a few routes here regularly. Make sure the belayer is standing in a safe spot... not below the climber! Climber: joe forte Photographer: danny kelly
