The mini canyons and layered/stepped rock is quite different from the rock back east.

A snapshot to give some scale to the formations at the first pullout. They really don't look that big from far away.

Pass the little traverse on pitch 4. The topo said there was a bolt but it was on the other side of the arrete, back towards the belay. I ran it out on the varnished face lower and climbed the slab up to the hand traverse. Pink tricam in the finger pocket gave some confidence.

Starting up the tunnel pitch I didn't find much gear opportunity. Eventually I found some tricam placements in the rock at my back. A fun pitch, easy slab/chimney climbing if a bit run out.

The climbing at Cap Trinité is aid (or 5.13.crazy). The rock is ok but can (and has) give way at any time. This photo is at the top of pitch 3. Pitch 2 is the crux pitch and here's a tip: if you're going to do it clean, bring vertical hooks. The views are spectacular and you can go to sleep watching Sky TV (auroras).
