SOOOO Much Rock So Little Time

Average Rating = 3.00/5 SOOOO Much Rock So Little Time

I took this picture while backpacking in Yosemite; It was my first time there. Unfortunately I did almost no rock climbing. On the plus side I got to see a lot of the park and had the time of my life. I will definitely be returning to climb in the future.

The water was very high the day I took this picture so I snaped a shot of it from a boulder in the stream. This waterfall is a constant presence while climbing on the High Noon boulder and is just one of many beautiful falls in the area.

The Perfect Rail

Average Rating = 3.60/5 The Perfect Rail

This is John Derr making the first assent on "The Perfect Rail" located on the "Rim of the Cradle" boulder. He has been chomping at the bit to do a lot of the lines in the old miners trail. We cleaned them off a while ago but this is the first that conditions have been good in this area for a while.

Thin as balls

Average Rating = 3.00/5 Thin as balls

We just put this problem up today and got its name because after climbing it I exclaimed, man this is Thin as Balls and that became its name. Not terribly hard but very fun probably around the V1 range, its just thin and technical.

Preparing for the top out

Average Rating = 3.50/5 Preparing for the top out

The top out of this problem is really awkward and scary and until the other day I had never done it. It is really the mental crux of the route, but it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be LOL.

The one in the middle is called the Spear Gun boulder and the one on the right is Noah's prow

John finishing diamonds in the rough

Average Rating = 3.00/5 John finishing diamonds in the rough

The crux for this route is the top out. You are pulling on huge jug with crystals that destroy your hands and a shallow heel hook on the lip. If you can reach the top its pretty its pretty flat. Photo credit: Brian Hiller
