Picture of Gym

Average Rating = 2.50/5 Picture of Gym

This is the sweetest gym ever. It has 250+ routes and walls 56 feet high with difficulties ranging from 5.2 to 5.14d. I love it! It is one of the only things I am going to miss when I leave Switzerland. Oh and that's me hanging from the ceiling after finishing Such den Griff (5.11b). It was fun. :)

The Dangers of Climbing

Average Rating = 4.00/5 The Dangers of Climbing

The radical Stuart Ryan climbed this fantastic route rated at around 5.10a/b but due to the extreme change in altitude he was struck by HAPE. Very unfortunate. He was a formidable climber. Meanwhile Andres Prieto styles through an adjacent route.

Supply Biner

Average Rating = 2.50/5 Supply Biner

What can I say? I can't climb 30 feet without needing to replenish my sugar stash. And so the supply biner came into existence. Now when i reach down i'll be sure to grab something useful. :)

Summer Approach in Sneakers

Average Rating = 3.33/5 Summer Approach in Sneakers

Here i was (taking the picture) hiking next to a friend (the radical alpinism master Stuart Ryan) of mine, mid May in sneakers and shorts. Little did i know that i would be hiking in snow that was up to 4 feet deep for about an hour. But still it was a fun experience. Swollen ankles from the snow and ice lodged in my shoe but luckily i was able to sit on a rock barefoot when not climbing and use my friends boots when on belay. Afterwards the only reasonable thing to do seemed to be to sprint down the mountain and slip hundreds of times all over ice, and fall off of lots of little ledges (steep mountain!) since there was no trail. Oh well. Good stuff. Moral of the story: Find out the weather at your destination and bring proper footwear. (The shorts and t-shirt were alright; mad sunburn!)
