Climbable even in hiking boots

Average Rating = 0.00/5 Climbable even in hiking boots

The Big Crack doesn't involve as much actual crack jamming as I'd like, but it is a short, fun beginner route.

View of The Book area at Cliff Drive

Average Rating = 0.00/5 View of The Book area at Cliff Drive

A view of The Book and close routes. And yes, that little tree growing out of the cliff face will support the weight of a pumped out 200 lbs person.

Dan rapping after a successful ascent of Cat in the Hat

Average Rating = 4.00/5 Dan rapping after a successful ascent of Cat in the Hat

We took the day before the 2007 Red Rocks Rendezvous to climb this classic route. Despite it being crowded, we had a great climb. The sun set as we rapped down the route.

Me at the best photo op on the route

Average Rating = 2.50/5 Me at the best photo op on the route

There is a wonderful, exposed picture opportunity when you are traversing between the 4th and 5th belay stations on the Cat in the Hat route. You can actually see Las Vegas past the hills in the background, but why bother with all that when you have such beautiful rock around you.
