3rd pitch of Professor Falls (WI4)

Average Rating = 0.00/5 3rd pitch of Professor Falls (WI4)

17-March-2007: 3rd pitch of Professor Falls (WI4). I led up the stepped out line. Soft, plastic, fat ice. Maybe more like WI3+ ? I understand there is normally sort of a cave on the upper left, but it was filled in with ice by now. It still made for a fun traverse right.

Sunny Falls

Average Rating = 0.00/5 Sunny Falls

20-January-2007: K. Chaltikian bouldering on Sunny Falls. An arctic air mass with low snowfall had blessed Eagle Creek Canyon with ice ... he later led a couple of WI4 lines on this short wall (20m ?)

South Eagle Creek Canyon ice

Average Rating = 4.50/5 South Eagle Creek Canyon ice

20-January-2007: an arctic air mass had been in the Tahoe area, causing lots of things to form up. Some locals told us this 30m was about WI4+ and it felt pretty steep ... this was on the south side of Eagle Creek Canyon (north-facing) opposite Sunny Falls. Bolt anchors at the top - K. Chaltikian led it - he first lassoed the pillar, then placed two cams before getting a solid ice screw in.

Ankle brace

Average Rating = 0.00/5 Ankle brace

Have to wear an ankle brace for about another month. I can bike and hike, but nothing high-impact like talus-hopping (healing calcaneal fracture).
