Pitch Five Roof

Average Rating = 3.50/5 Pitch Five Roof

This is pitch five just above the A3 head ramp. I placed one head on lead, my first ever, after the existing head fell out in my hand. Getting to the ramp is an adventure in and of itself. Think loose 5.7X... Thanks to Smithclimber for snapping the shot.

Wet Denim Pitch ???

Average Rating = 3.00/5 Wet Denim Pitch ???

I can't seem to figure out where this is, but it might be pitch 6. Thanks to Smithclimber for snapping the shot.

El Cap in the Clouds

Average Rating = 3.29/5 El Cap in the Clouds

I snapped this in the morning before the fog burned off. Must have been pretty spooky for everyone on the wall to wake up and see nothing but clouds.

Waimea, Right

Average Rating = 3.95/5 Waimea, Right

I snapped this on the way up to Jimmy Cliff. It's an unknown climber on a route I didn't bother to identify. He popped about half a second after I took this. Whatever it is, it looked pretty heinous to me.

Wet Denim Daydream - Pitch 6

Average Rating = 3.25/5 Wet Denim Daydream - Pitch 6

This is the beginning of pitch six. Smithclimber took the shot, and I mangled it with photoshop. The pitch starts out with a fun little pendulum to a head crack. Nice straightforward aid.

Smithclimber on Jagged Sky, 5.12a

Average Rating = 4.00/5 Smithclimber on Jagged Sky, 5.12a

This is Wes, wrestling with his new project. I took this shot with his sweet new Sony digital camera. The route is, without a doubt, the most photogenic climb at the crag.

Wet Denim Daydream Roof

Average Rating = 3.82/5 Wet Denim Daydream Roof

This is me on the tenth pitch roof of Wet Denim Daydream. We attempted to do the route in a day, but it ended up being a 32 hour single push. This is around hour 31. Photo by Smithclimber.

Matthes Crest - North Peak Summit

Average Rating = 3.93/5 Matthes Crest - North Peak Summit

Photo by Smithclimber. Here I am at the summit of the north peak on Matthes Crest after a leisurely 4.5 hour simul-climb. There are only two pitches of technical climbing on the entire route, the first and the last. Everything in between is actually kind of boring 4th class ridge traversing. Spectacular location though.

Tunnel through the Spires

Average Rating = 3.77/5 Tunnel through the Spires

My friend dave took this shot through the tunnel in the Spires, while I was freezing in the saddle between the spires just above. You pass the tunnel on the way up the first pitch of the classic route on the Chico spire.

From the High E. Ledge

Average Rating = 3.00/5 From the High E. Ledge

I took this from the High Exposure belay ledge beneath the giant roof. It looks out along the Trapps towards the uberfall. No action, just a nice shot of the cliff.

La Estrellita - Final Pitch

Average Rating = 3.82/5 La Estrellita - Final Pitch

This is a shot of me coming up the final pitch. My friend Dave took from the summit, hopefully with me tied off. Fear the loose stuff in the chimney.

La Estrellita - 10th pitch, 5.10b

Average Rating = 3.67/5 La Estrellita - 10th pitch, 5.10b

This is me following the tenth pitch (.10). My partner Dave took the shot while belaying on a nice ledge. It's a fun, laid back climb with very low exposure and doesn't require much of a lead head. The descent is 5 single-rope raps off the backside of the
