El Capitan - Southeast Face - Tangerine Trip VI 5.8 A2 or C3F - I am belaying Ben Banks as he leads P4. The plan is that he will fix P5, lower off and we will spend our first night on the wall at the top of P4. With the traversing nature of P5 and the steepness of Tangerine Trip, when Ben lowered off, the exposure was awesome. Photo by Tom Evans.

Riverside Rock Quarry - RIGHT END AREA - Rivets & Bits: Image of how I have my Gri Gri set up when I solo. The DMM Belay Master keeps the Gri Gri oriented out in front of me when attached to belay loop on harness. It also helps prevent cross loading. I also use some duct tape to keep Gri Gri positioned on the front part of the carabiner. The keeper cord which is connected to the carabiner prevents me from dropping Gri Gri when removing or place the rope in the Gri Gri. NOTE: ALWAYS USE A BACKUP KNOT THAT IS ATTACHED TO YOUR HARNESS BELAY LOOP WITH A LOCKING CARABINER WHEN SOLOING.

Gri Gri With Clip In Loop - Drill small hole through the black plastic part of Gri Gri.
Use 3m cord, tie stopper knot and good size loop for carabiner. Use seam grip to keep it in place. If soloing and using a Gri Gri as your solo aid devise you NEED a clip in loop. Because everytime you take the rope out of the Gri Gri, the probability of dropping it is HIGH. In the image you can see a carabiner clipped into the orange keeper loop. The carabiner is attached to a piece of cord that is attached to my A5 shoulder harness.
