A view Mount Olivia from the outskirts of Ushuaia, one of the most beautiful mountains I have ever seen.

You gotta look really close; it's hard to see me flying off this cliff dressed all in black. I probed the landing before I hit it.

This day I just brought my axe but no crampons, BIG mistake! If you are a good judge of pitch you can see what we had ahead of us off in the distance was steeeep, like over 55 degrees steep; I crapped my pants on this 1,300 foot ascent.

Boot packing a ridgeline from a lift accessed starting point, we rode the north face of Cerro Krund in a zone of the interior called Tierra Major at a dinky little resort called Cerro Castor. Don't diss on the lift access; getting back to the south facing aspect where we started from was nuts! Definatly the most dangerous decent and return ascent of the trip!

Over the head blower in the chute! What a day!

A tuff boot pack in 3 feet of fresh on Cerro Bridges. We wanted to summit but were denied by chest deep wind blown at the top of this chute. The short 300 meters of decent were some of the best of the trip.

I had a negative 40 down bag... big mistake! I could have brought a 0 bag and been fine; Tierra del Fuego is warmer than I thought! Live and learn

We used this spot as a base camp on and off for one month.

View of the Beagle Strait from the glaciar. We stopped here about 200 meters shy of the summit to ride down to our base camp. There was only two of us with almost no beta on the ascent; the cornice ahead looked sketch and the final approach was a foreboding perfectly flat panel.

Starting our ascent, the south facing maritime snowpack was very stable. With just some crampons, an axe and two 8mm, 30 meter ropes in case of emergency we take off.
