Hermien pauses to rest in the shade between Suri Tondo and Wanderdu on our way to climb the normal route on Wangel Debridu. the impressive east face is visible behind her.

The normal-route on Wangel Debridu is an 800ft trad climb rated IV+ (about 5.7) and an ideal climb to get used to the rounded holds which are typical for climbing on this type of rock. From the summit we had a magnificent view over the vast desert plains.

This beautiful 2400ft route is probably the longest route on sandstone in the world. It is a 15-pitch climb rated 5.10 (b?) with a very consistent rating (no pitch below 5.8) and no gear installed except for most of the anchors. Cracks are mostly horizont

Heinz, Paul, Hermien and I have reached the summit of this remarkable peak after one and a half day of climbing in the hot desert sun. One of the most remarkable climbs I have done so far!!! You can see the summit plateau of Suri Tondo behind us.

This picture was taken at the start of the Black Dihedral on the North America Wall on El Capitan. The next few pitches lead up to the Black Cave where we spent our 4th night on the wall!

after 7 days on the N.A.Wall Olivier and me reach the summit of El Cap. Very tired and still a long way back down but extremely happy after doing my first (and Ollie's second) bigwall!!!
