Borah North Cirque Ice routes

Average Rating = 0.00/5 Borah North Cirque Ice routes

Photo of 3 of the ice routes that have shown up in the cirque this fall. Octoberfest is the left-most route (AI 4+). The middle route looks like it would go at AI5 (very briefly, easing after 30 ft., crux would be getting on).

Octoberfest Ice, Borah North Side

Average Rating = 0.00/5 Octoberfest Ice, Borah North Side

This photo shows the start of the actual ice on Octoberfest (AI 4+). Great climbing for October 23! The first 40 feet of the route is the steepest, at approximately 90 degrees, no foot rests. The route continues on, at probably AI 3, and then through several bulges. Ice screws took well. No fixed gear, we rapped off runner-slung rocks. Photo by Sam Eurich (Boise), climber is me.
