More Serious ClimbersRandy is my gym and sport climbin friend. He's one of the few people that you meet in life that you would hang the moon for if you could. A great friend indeed. Here we are on a ledge on Wind Tower one day after work.

Heading BackThis is a pic of my fiance and I making love on a beach in the Cook Islands. . .
Okay, okay, that's a lie. There is no fiance. There is no beach. There is no love making. BUT there is a very big diamond about 1 mile away from this very spot. :-) Me above Peacock Pools. Photo by Randy Wong.

The Dog Days Of FallHere is Torrey and I hanging out in a junk yard in Moab on Thanksgiving day. Myself, jay_bird, charlieclimber and clymber were headed to Vegas when *POW*, clymber hit a deer. We pulled into a gas station at about 5:00 am when the radiator decided to spill ALL of it's contents. We walked to Dennys, feeling a little down on our luck, where we met the Angel of Moab. Our waitress hooked us up with a friend of hers who owns a junk yard. He worked most of Thanksgiving day on the truck. He gave us a ride and a tow too. Our waitress even offered us dinner and to give us her radiator right out of her truck if we needed it. These people were the epitome of kind. From the junk yard, we made it to Indian Creek for some fun climbing, great camping and great company with some great new friends. It's funny, we really didn't get that much climbing in but really, I had a fantastic time. I have a lot to be thankful for but during Thanksgiving 04, I was thankful for the kindness of strangers. It helped renew the notion that not all people are bad. Photo by Charlie Fowler.

Chimney PitchMe leading the chimney pitch on Lone Eagle Peak. Photo by timstich. Great route, great partner, great weather, long day. :-) My head wasn't so great though. I was a dummy and forgot my helmet. This was one of the loosest routes I've been on yet or at least the descent was.

UGGGGG!!!Here I am clueless. I thought I was about to lead up Washington Irving 5.6 but instead I ended up leading an 8+ pitch and attempting the 9+s section of Strawberry Shortcut. Nice learning experience to see that I'm more capable of doing things I didn't realize I was ready for. In retrospect it was good but really I was scared. The gear was NOT good at all. Photo by ZOZO!
