Aaron working unknown boulder in the White TanksAaron and I were greeted with climber unfriendly signs and hundreds of hikers by the main walls so we got off the beaten path and found some dirty rock to play on. I took this with a crappy 35mm and scanned it.

Excitement on paradise spire.Dave's a bit enthusiastic about being close to the top of the spire. Our route followed my previous FA route to the top, a chossy but easy line used only for ascent. Other lines will be much cleaner. Scanned from 35mm.

First Born and Double ExposureThe rock faces are too dark but the background is pretty. First born is the line on left, double exposure on the right. Both have the same start. Double Exposure is still a bit chossy in spots but well bolted, just needs to be climbed.

Beginning of the Tunnel AreaYou can see the old tunnel and initial routes immediately to your right as you exit. Keep walking and you will pass a broken area then another wall with additional routes.

Ground sideways on JapheadMark taking a needed break while leading P1, which will be about 100 feet of traverse on the limestone band, about 85 feet off the deck. I'd call it a ground up ascent but since it's a traverse I'll call it ground sideways. P2 will probably be an arching crack on the inside corner of a large pillar then possibly a 3rd pitch?

1st pitch, Coyote Tower 2003Manny took this picture of me following up the second pitch of Coyote Tower. It should have been a leisurely day but was 20 degrees hotter than I expected and my shoes felt like they were melting to my feet. The whole climb is pretty much in direct sunlight.
