My friend Charles rappelling off of Seal Rock after a six pitch climb. It was my first experience with both multi-pitch and slab climbing. The full 50 meter rappel was very exciting, the lower half of which is free from the wall.

The sign said "For the slightly insane" and the crew had t-shirts that said "Abseil, Dope on a Rope". How's that for encouragement. Lion's Head is seen prominently in the background. (April 2002)

This is a photo of the route called Double Overhang (5.4) at the East Bluff of Devil's Lake. A fun route with some nice exposure near the top, especially on the second overhang.

Looking up the Lost Face. The 5.8 Overhang variation can be seen in the center of the picture. The 5.6 route follows the line just to the right of the overhang.

A nice view of Devil's Lake from the top of Cleopatra's Needle. I was third up and this was my first climb belayed from above. There was barely enough room for the three of us at the top, but I stood up and took this photo. We could feel the Needle sway slightly with our movements. (13Jul2003)
