Description:

Located between "Hyperion" and "Aenea." Yellow Rose of Texas climbs the featured slab below the left side of the overhang/roof of Hyperion Slab to a high 1st bolt. An undercling and small cobbles lead to a large hole above the roof. Pull the overhang on pockets and move slightly right and up the slab to a shared anchor with "Aenea."

Descent Options:

Rappell from the chain anchor of "Aenea," with a single rope.

4 out of 5 stars Exciting Roof

We really enjoyed the mostly moderate movement on "Yellow Rose of Texas," but the pull over the bulge is stout unless you have good footwork.

4 out of 5 stars Sweet Slab Climbing

Fun moves up the slab and over the left side of the overhang on just enough pockets and knobs. Well protected.

4 out of 5 stars Good moves

Crux is passing through the relief in the roof b/w Aenea and Endymion. The roof is not as extreme for this route but there are thinner holds. But the holds are where they need to be to get through it. Very fun line. I thought this and Endymion were both easier than Aenea which is rated a 5.8 (only for tall people).
