Description:

Inside corner to the right of Pine Tree Dihedral. It is a good first trad lead, with excellent protection opportunities. TR setup is difficult due to wandering nature of route. Start just to the right of PTD and climb up blocks to the inside corner. Climb up to the roof and sling the stable chock stone, and then place pro in the crack to the upper right. Pull the roof and stand on the ledge to place gear in the left crack before mantling up as the crack widens just enough to accept a leg. You can build an anchor by slinging the chock stone about 15 feet back, but using this as a TR will have enormous rope drag. This is a good climb for beginning leaders.

Descent Options:

Walk off climbers path to the right and exit to railroad tracks.

4 out of 5 stars fun but challenging lead for a beginner like me

It's the toughest 5.4 I've ever lead. Pulling the roof is the tough part, but there's good pro. Take yer time and think it through.
