Description:
Another classic on Athabasca which follows the prominent snow/ice ridge to the subsidary peak of Athabasca (the Silverhorn). This line is further to the right of the North Face and just left of the hanging seracs that loom above the left side of the 'Normal' North Glacier route. Climbs 45-50 degree snow and ice slopes (up to AI2+). Easy scrambling along the W ridge takes one from the top of the Silverhorn to the summit. Descend either the AA col / West Ridge or the North Glacier routes.

Ascent Note
Over half the route was good hard alpine ice, sometimes covered in snow. Cleaning 6-12 inches deep for screw placements was typical on these sections. Placed pickets in only two spots. Great route.
