Description:

Take the Tower Trail counter clockwise passing the large fallen column on the east side of the trail. A dirt trail will head of to the left, follow this up to the base and right till you are below the Teacher's Lounge. The route is to the right of Broken Tree. First pitch (155 ft, 5.8+) follows a low angle crack. When the crack narrows, head left on to the face passing three bolts to the anchor. The second pitch offers some of the better sport climbing on the Tower. It is possible to head left around the corner after the fifth bolt and then back right to avoid some hard moves (dropping the grade to a 5.10c), but the rope will be running over a dangerous edge in a lead fall (150 ft). Rap route.

4 out of 5 stars no header

a bit suspect rock at places. also, the rock is sharp - better (for rope) to grunt (or tech - depending upon the mood, i suppose) the crux out than to do the easier variation.

5 out of 5 stars My first 11b!

After starting off with some easier climbs at Devils Tower, we moved onto Everlasting... The second pitch wasn't easy, but when I reached the top my partner, Frank, informed me I'd just completed an 11b! That realization was an "everlasting" moment, with a beautiful full moon on the horizon as we walked back to our car.
