Description:

In Three Rivers, CA, about 30 miles east of Visaila heading toward Sequoia Nat'l Park. Take 198 east and drive past Lake Kaweah, and pass Horse Creek campground. Continue over a bridge(Horse Creek bridge) and about a minute afterward you will see a recreation area on your LEFT. It is called Slick Rock Recreation Area. Turn left to enter the Rec Area, and drive down the road on the LEFT. Follow the road all the way to where it ends at a locked gate and park on the right. There are a lot of rocks/boulders on the left side of the road. The only route that offers some real challenge is Trapezoid. From where you've parked walk back the way you came a few hundred feet. Trapezoid is the tallest rock there. The direct route to the top starts opposite the short section of guard railing on the road. Follow the crack that goes in almost a perfectly straight diagonal line to the top. The first 15 feet to the crack is overhanging and is the most difficult part of the climb, past that its 5.1 to the top. If you wish to place a top rop, follow an easier class 4 climb that starts on the left side of the rock and use your gear to set up an anchor in the crack above the route; there are no bolts in place.

Descent Options:

downclimb the class 4 climb that goes down to the left
