3 out of 5 stars enjoyed it

I helped to bolt this route and was one of the first ascents on it. However, I am recording all of my climbs post baby in July, 2010. Anyways, the start is fun and the finish can be committing.

3 out of 5 stars That dirty dog cleaned up well

I developed this route with Annette after the city cut down the dead trees next to the wall. This opened up the area for the route. There was a ton rock and dirt (literally, I'm certain of it) that had to be cleaned off the top including a table top sized cap stone on the block right over the anchors. All that dirt and rock had to be brushed off from the top all the way down to the bottom. I was covered head to toe in dirt and dust by the time I finished cleaning to prep for bolting. I had never moved so much material developing a route before this.

Annette and I thought that The Mongrel was the right description for the new climb that showed up in the Seismic neighborhood. In the end, I felt it was a good variation to the classic Seismic slab climbs off to the left with it's finger crack at the start. I hope you enjoy it.
