Ascent Notes for: Pony Express - 5.9 Average Rating : 2.50/5

This route is soft by Jtree standards. Climb up the well featured face pass two bolts to a right slanting crack. Follow it up to a fixed station half way up the wall. This route is not sustained nor interesting and thus does not deserve a star in my opinion although granted one in Miramontes book. I did take it all the way to the top of the formation hitting a corner up and left that never gets climbed much....that offered a decent short bit of climbing. With Stacy.

The bolts are a bit old.. I don't know how standard the hardware is for j-tree, but combined with the thinness of some of the flakes, I thought the route was a bit heads-up.

to being 5.9. 5.6? 5.7?

I recommend clipping the anchor, and continuing, topping out on the right crack. Fun, no harder, no easier. Build anchor on top w/larger gear.
