4 out of 5 stars Sidewinder

The skimpy dike traverse makes this one of the more unique climbs in Jtree. The crux is a slab move at a bolt down low. Then a juggy traverse and small roof pull into a short crack, then up to the dike which has two bolts, one at the beginning and one at the end. A must do 5.10. Walk to the very west for the rap (small jump to left hand tower). With Chad from CA.

4 out of 5 stars .

Not as hard as hyped, traverse at top was pretty damn secure.

5 out of 5 stars Sidewinder

Worth crossing the continent for this one! Use runners judiciously and enjoy the long traverse without rope drag. Crux at low bolt is tough.

5 out of 5 stars Dope

not too often that I give the 5-star rating, this might be my fav of the season thus far. Exciting must-do climb. Yet another exercise in terror management! not that hard for .10b though ;)

5 out of 5 stars Great Climb

Great climb. Really fun and the traverse at the top is fun. Sketchy down climb.

5 out of 5 stars Ascent Note

Getting past the first bolt seemed height dependent. Couldn't get fingertips onto the crescent edge that was only 3-4 inches up and right and out of reach. Ended up doing extra moves that went up and left before stepping back across, which felt like at least .10+ or so, as in harder than the slab sequence at the bottom of Hobbit Roof.

5 out of 5 stars .

Stellar line. I followed it a few months ago but the challenge of leading was so much more enjoyable. Nice season opener at J-Tree. Only a few loose pieces on the left side above the first bolt and the rest is solid with great gear.

PS Per getting down: there is a chain rap station on the north side of the rock ...
