Definitely wouldn't give it two stars like the new book does, it's certainly a creative route and one of the few in J-tree that I'm not interested in doing again.

j tree is oft inscrutable

Not sure it deserves 2 stars in the new book, but fun crack in the sun. With Joe K.

I wouldn't recommend this route. Can't say I didn't enjoy it and can't say I did.

Finally got to lead it [was my warm-down ending for a stellar weekend]; did the direct start. The direct start is actually beautiful friction moves and quite runout. This route is wonderful albeit too short--a typical J Tree downfall.

Started down in the cave on the right leaning hand crack. Worked my way up till it ends, and a small traverse to the main left leaning hand crack of Leaping Leaner. This start goes at 5.8 and rated R.
