Ascent Notes for: Big Moe - 5.11a Average Rating : 4.27/5

I tried this a couple of years ago and thrashed up the whole route. This time after increasing my strength substantially from the gym, I climbed it like it was nothing! It was nice to see my progress. The moves are fun, may be really hard if you are shorter than 5'5". Remember to rest before launching up the last section. The first time we put a cam with a long sling in the horizontal crack to keep us from swinging away from the wall. That way you can rest and figure out all the moves

Great TR. Bummer someone chopped the anchor bolts up top. Now you have to make an anchor and extend the crap out of it.

such a sick climb...got it on my first try and definitely a climb i will come back to many a time.....an i heard its leadable........maybe one day

Bit of a dynamo

I've been doing this route regularly on visits to JT for well over a year now, and have been slowly improving. Its a great end-of-the-day route - walk up the slab out of the parking lot and there are bolted anchors. I finally got Big Mo clean this time - mainly because I watched someone clean it before me - saw which holds they used in the top pumpy section - and in fact they are all ticked up. I hope I can repeat the send next time w/o the beta.

Challenging crux pretty low to ground. Rest is really fun.

What a great climb. One would be crazy (or braindamaged after a fall) to lead this one so you better TR this one. Bolts at top were solid. The heart shaped pocket was the crux for me, but it didnt get much easier throughout the climb. I actually did a dyno to the ledge above the heart shaped pocket but saw another guy throw his right foot behind him for this awkward stemming move. It is a dynamic move because you dont have much time to place. Good resting spot in the middle before struggling to the end. GREAT CLIMB
