5 out of 5 stars A result of determination

With a bit of coaching from my belayer, I was able to use hand jams and chicken wing for the first time.

Can't believe it took me 3 years to get back on this sweeeeeet crack - I chose the right-hand chimney since the #5 Camalot fit in there, and it wasn't directly above the nasty granite spike, like the left one . . . (original note from 4/10/05: likely lead soon, very fun route - lots of great jams, really dug the offwidths up high. big ol' chicken wangs up there!)

Guide books say 5.10, I thought it was more 9ish. Surmounting the bulge is the funnest part of the route. I found solid jams to pull on over the bulge, but I also saw dave lieback up and over. Sweet 5.7 handcrack in the middle to a stance below two offwidth cracks or traverse out left to a bolt and a face climb finish. Didnt try the variation, gonna try next time i guess. 4 star route in my book
