Only one way to get through that fat crack. I did it all in one pitch and found the second half to be lovely classic easy Gunks climbing with ledges and roofs and rusted pitons to boot!

This time Bett lead P1 and I lead P2. Both Bett and I did the belly roll on our backs...it's so much easier. Even leading.

It was wet, but it's so juggy that it really didn't matter. Lots of fun. I still hate the move off the ledge (it didn't help that the face was all wet under the layback).

the party ahead of me (on top of the cliff) yells down to say that there is a major storm coming our way. No sooner did they say that, the skies opened up and it poured. I down climbed and back cleaned and hit the ground in the rain. We scrambled around and moved everyone's packs under the overhangs. It poured for about 15 minutes or so. Enough to soak to the cliff.

I did the belly roll with my left leg in first, it's much easier that way. Removed one fixed nut lower in the climb, couldn't remove the fixed nut in the chimney thing. Will bring a hammer tomorrow!
