Ascent Notes for: Abyss - 5.11b Average Rating : 4.10/5

I really liked this route. Fun-crossovers and gymnastic movement. No way this is an 5.11b. Felt like a soft 5.11a at best. Weird couple of moves right before the anchors.

Probably my favorite route at the Pit. I have no idea if I got this thing clean my first go or not, it was a while ago. Knowing the beta, I don't think it is any harder than 5.10+. But I'm tall, maybe I can just skip moves that others have to make?

make sure you make the first clip. The holds are there and they're big, but you might want a stick clip the first time just to be safe. falls above the fourth bolt are nice and clean.

A very fun V1 boulder problem leads you to a dirty ledge and another very fun V1 boulder problem out of the roof. Big, clean fall potential if you fall from the roof section - I took a couple of 15-footers trying to clip the second bolt up there. PG13 because falling from the opening crux could be nasty.

Super fun climbing on huge jugs. Don't mind the filthy ledge in the middle!

Huge pockets, I'll redpoint in the spring. Don't get lost.
