5 out of 5 stars Unique Climb!

This was so much fun! Martin and I alternated leads, he started with the tree and led the stalactite pitch (4), and I ended up with pitch 5, which was just as challenging, although more straightforward. The move onto the stalactite and back (pitch 4) was truly unique, and on a scale from 1 to 5 for exposure, it was a 10. On a vertical slab, 90 meters above the Freedom Bar, with nowhere left to go, you know that stalactite is behind you, but it's just a little too high and you can't really turn your head enough to see it other than in your peripheral vision. Yet, you must reach your hand back for it and then work your way up to get your foot on there too. Then you are suspended in nothingness, feeling the wind all around your skin, and you are spanning the gap above the void. But then you have to move up and over and down another stalactite and do the whole thing in reverse to get back onto the wall! And it's even more frightening, because you have to span with both legs in front of you and your ass on the stalactite! Physically not more than a 6b+, but mentally... Wow!!!
Super beautiful, mega-classic.
