good all the way

Nice feet, cool liebacks and jams, scary "widowmaker" block in the middle, easy cracks above that. Full 60m rope length to top. Great climb!

Soloed hundreds of times over the decades....was my first 5.8 lead as a kid...1976. Originally rated 5.9, it was downrated twice over the years. I still think it has one 5.8 move, on the lieback section about 20 feet up.

This was fun since I never climb onsights. Great long pitch, cool climb. Belayed Brian off 'biners from top. I hate belaying off biners . . .

Did I traverse too soon or too late? The move and a half to get over into the direct route's crack felt like a .9 to me. Feeling proud. :)

1st pitch in sucky new shoes (too big, felt like clown shoes with no friction), scared, scared. Got so mad I led the 2nd pitch with 5 pieces of gear...not my ideal 1st trad lead after a year hiatus! Still, felt strong. :)
