Description:

Like many another Sunset route, Copperhead is a little sandbagged for the grade. Though it's a short route, it's well worth doing. The protection is good, especially where you need it the most.

Starts on a ledge above the trail, about 5 minutes walk north from the toprope area. At the left end of the ledge, move up a dirty but easy dihedral to a ledge, then move right under a shallow crack. Climb the crack (crux), then up the face to mantel out at the top. Sling trees for an anchor, or build a gear anchor in the rocks to climber's right.

Descent Options:

Rap off the pine tree at the top of the cliff.
