I had a tough time getting up Deez before I read a little into how to tackle the route. I was trying all sorts of stupid crimps and dynos. I found, like I'm sure some others will, that the first bit is the hardest. It's a bit of an over hang that you'll need a bit of a wingspan to grip nicely. The first little dyno/crimp that leads you up to the first big face of the rock can be discouraging. BRING A CRASH PAD, the earth beneath you slopes pretty heavily downward and it's easy to tumble down without a spotter. Deez is the reason behind many a busted ankle around Bell Isle.

Fun little climb. I'd highly recommend this boulder for anyone who's green and trying to get their feet wet. Lots of crimp practice and plenty of space to get used to heel hooking, or just being inverted in general. Relatively safe, but a crash pad should be preferred because of the uneven, rock / power line debris that covers the ground below.
