Prow-d to climb overhangs again
Solid climb with a variety of edge sizes, a lieback maneuver, and some powerful moves ascending the overhang, with great exposure. Texture here grips better than the Sioux quartzite at Palisades (SD), I must say.

EZ Street (for those driving larger vehicles)
Start is height-dependent; the taller, the EZ-er. Solid edges & crack above, but can be face climbed the whole way on holds outside of the crack. Very Fun Climb, tho' some holds are loose. Route can be climbed avoiding them, however.

The Vixen is Fixin' to Test You
This is a solid climb, with plenty of technical challenges for a moderate route. Thin edges. Crux is above halfway point, but sustained effort is required, with little rest throughout the climb. For a good workout, down-climb immediately after ascent, as all moves can be done statically.

Vulcan: A Hostile Environment
Overhanging climb on small edges to a small finger crack above, with smaller edges for footholds, accompanied by every variety of crawling arachnid and insect launching themselves into eyes, ears, & nose makes this "5.6" with plenty of 5.8 moves upon it, the hardest "6" in the area. Make sure you protect from above before invading Vulcan territory.

Garden Path - Gardeners Needed - Apply Within
Vegetables could be grown here in the first ten feet. Insects of every variety spend their lives here, feeding upon passing climbers. Climb quickly to better holds above, and safer refuge.

Gail's Folly - Wet Holds, Loose Rock
The bottom holds are wet with much vegetation. Loose block about 1/3 way up. Upper holds are solid edges with good climbing worth getting to, once over the bottom section.

Hot Coals, Sweaty Rock
Palisades Quartzite can 'sweat' if the humidity & temperature factors are at certain levels; never seen this before elsewhere. Water beaded up on the rock on that sunny day, then ran in rivulets down the rock to form puddles on some of the best edges. Way strange. Otherwise, good edgy climb, tho.

Sweet Areta Seemed So Much Betta
This line seemed a better challenge than the "Mystery Climb" to its left, so I did this the same day, May 6, 2012. Various techniques required: Jams, layback, undercling, crimps, foot-matches, side-to-side switching, and a small but essential Thank-God hold; it's all there.

Bring a Date - & More Webbing than You Think You Need
Basic warm-up climb with ledges, edges, & large flakes. Plenty of spots to rest & look at scenery.

Stepping Off & Slipping Off
Super Slick texture: Practice on Teflon pans mounted vertically at home before attempting this. Not a Yosemite 5.8. Perhaps after rains, quartzite absorbs moisture to slicken; don't know as yet, as this was my first climb here at Palisades. First hand jam suddenly slid 8 inches down then spit me out. After repeat slide-jams, floundered up without using cracks. Not a warm-up.
