1 out of 5 stars Sucked

I hated this climb. Tried to lead to set a top rope for my buddies, but I ended up just hanging and jumping between bolts. The very first move to the small ledge was sweet, but I couldn't find anything after that for hands or feet. Great view from the top ledge, perfect place for a picnic!

4 out of 5 stars I think this is what I climbed

I watched my buddy go up this and I thought it would be impossible but when I got on it was suprisingly easy to find some good grips. What I thought would be torture turned out to be a really fun climb!

5 out of 5 stars Great climb

This is now one of my favorite climbs (at least I think this is the climb that I did). I loved the pockets in the granite and the chains with the hooks at the top. The view of Donner Lake is beautiful from here.

4 out of 5 stars Not a problem

I used a mantle at the crux and it seemed pretty easy to me, but maybe that's just me cheating with my awesome height advantage. Pretty fun climb.

4 out of 5 stars Classic CR Climb

I tried the more difficult start at the bottom and I couldn't do it because my shoes were old and slipping. I think I could do it now with my new shoes. Starting from the easier start I had no problems and it was a great long climb. If you climb this please set a good anchor. Don't anchor into the top railing and don't wrap your rope directly around the middle pilar.

4 out of 5 stars Finally got it

This is one of my favorite Castle Rock climbs. Armed with a new pair of shoes I was finally able to get the last move crux. I've climbed it four times previously and it was pretty exciting to finally finish it. I found the little pocket with my left hand, got one finger in that tiny hole on the right, heel hooked with my left foot and pulled my self up. The rest of the climb is pretty easy compared to the last move, but the whole thing is pretty fun. Might try leading it next time.

4 out of 5 stars Awesome Overhang

Started halfway between Ayatolloh and Mullah and went straight up the overhang. Finished up on the Ayatolloh route but it seemed a little easy. Overall a fun climb and an awesome view. It was completely worth the 45 minutes of walking around lost in the woods trying to find it.

4 out of 5 stars Fun 2nd Trad Climb

My second trad climb after Knapsack. This one was much more fun. I think we kind of got off route and did something halfway between Deception and Deception Direct and it ended up being pretty fun. The first pitch starts off pretty easy but the second one gets more challenging and fun.

2 out of 5 stars Climb was too easy but good pro practice

Difficult to find without a book. Got there early and there was no one else on the rock. I can lead 10b's in the gym and I found the climbing to be too easy. It was more like walking up the rock than climbing. It was my first trad climb so it was good practice placing pro. If you're a good climber I'd skip this and go right to deception.
