Ascent Note

Excellent route. Best approach (none), one can practically belay from the car. The crux was the chimmney right at the start. The inside was polished and I had a hard time inching my way up. The exposure on the 2nd pitch was great. It zig zags back and forth quite a bit. At the summit, traverse about 20-25 feet left of the belay station to get on solid ground. Good thing the traverse ledge was wide, a fall here would have really sucked. Killer views, great company, and cookies. Couldn't have asked for anything more. Maybe a beer at the top.

Ascent Note

This was a great route. Very thoughtful. In other words, had to think about every single move. Every move felt like the crux. Great climbing every step of the way.
Climbed again on 7-17-05. Seeing def improvement in my climbing.

I lead this route today, 4-5-06. My partner Jim placed the first couple of pieces but I did the rest. We took the easier 5.5 start. I was a little nervous about the final roof move but I put in 2 pieces and did the move easily.

Ascent Note

Just like the East Face but with an easier start. Again, had to think about every move. Climbed this just after climbing the East Face and was glad the wind died out. Didn't feel nearly as exposed.

The best part was watching Lisa climb with a cast on her hand. Amazing! The worst part was the rappel down. Swung into the wall. Bloodied my elbow and my ego.
