2 out of 5 stars loose blocks are pretty tight.

An ok route, with the middle being the best part. The "tombstone" loose blocks under the roof, although tilted outward (yikes!), are actually jammed pretty tight against the roof. I couldn't budge them. But, they are deadly big, so don't even touch them.

4 out of 5 stars A great crux pitch

Not really hard, just continuous (the whole last pitch is 90 degrees). Takes good protection: PG. Airy views overlooking the "Death Ledges" variation of Black Wall.

3 out of 5 stars pretty good rock

This is a moderate climb on pretty good rock. The 1st belay is a scenic position on a white prow.

3 out of 5 stars a good ceiling

Mediocre moderate climbing with PG-13 protection leading to good rock at an exciting and a bit strenuous ceiling that protects well (G).
(There is a route left of this that's 5.5 PG-13 called "Son of Gunk". The rock is good but its a bit nervy since the crux reach is the PG-13 part)

3 out of 5 stars nice rock

Very good quality rock. Protction is all G except for the very start which is maybe PG-13. Just be careful at the start. The route drawing in the guidebook is a little off, its further right.

3 out of 5 stars 5.9- ???

Nice quality rock. I've done this twice and both times it seemed more like 5.10- !?? It felt like a Gunks climb. (The wall to the left of this climb looks like it should be a Gunks 5.12+ ?)

4 out of 5 stars strenuous

Every move is to a bucket, and every bucket takes gear.... but the wall is overhanging, you will be running out of gas, the exposure is unnerving, and there are no rests. Your only recourse is to tough it out!
