new caving/chimney/off-width experience

The first pitch was memorable, crawling up a cave. The second pitch was dicey but well protected. The rest of the climb was beautiful.

Spectacular climb!

This is a great climb! The arete is great and exposed! It was reasonably well protected. Just when you think you don't have any pro just go up another few feet and there's the piton.

we walked up the gully to the right and top-roped. fun face climb after the lieback up to the top ledge.

first slab

Zach lead this all 5 pitches. the last 2 pitches were run-out but not much worse than 5.5. The top of the lieback was great! The descent wasn't too bad either, a short rap and hike off.

25.5 hour ascent

Zach and I didn't have a campsite the night before so we got a wilderness permit and camped around the back side of the peak. Started climbing at 8 am and topped out around 5 pm. Only 2 other parties, we took our time and chilled at the ledges. Descent we down lead two pitches before walking off. Got back to the car at 10 pm.

Great night climb!

we climed this starting around 7:30 pm with a party of 3, including one new climber. I lead the 1st and 2nd pitches and Zach lead the 3rd. On the first pitch there was a roof which I traversed right, then up a small corner, no pro for about 40' with crux 5.7 face traverse to a bolt. We rapped in the dark. Took 3 raps to get to the ground, didn't do the 4th class in the dark.

First yosemite 5.8 lead

first pitch has run-out face but isn't that hard, second pitch crux for me was the face above the mantel. we also did the 5.8 roof higher up.
