What a long route. Loved the rock so different from other NC areas. Perfect day to spend it on the rock with friends. Climbed it in two teams of two.

Interesting

Not a good way to to finish out the day, after 4 other climbs. Fat and worn out. Made for a interesting lead. Had trouble pulling up my own ass. Got through it though had my doubts at the time.

Fun Fun Climb

Love this climb. Lots gear and rests the bottom half. I pull the roof out left before the wide 4" section, but no gear to the top 40+ feet easy climbing.

First aid or any climbing in two years. Time to get off the couch. Love IA Pitch 2 and three. P2 is Scary for an A2, but maybe I'm getting soft.

Ascent Note

After the spring floods we had great weather fixed to 3 then 6 days on the wall. Brought a free climber along to free the black tower and belay. All aid climbers need a free climbing rope gun/belay slave. A little wandering at the bottom but the challenges of the route made it fun.

Ascent Note

I Soloed this route on a day and a half break from visiting the parents in VT. I did the first pitch the day before and cleaned it in the dark. Climbed through the roof and was back on the ground by two in the afternoon. Didn't do the last pitch because of the steam of water flowing rom it. It was a cool route the hardest I've soloed to date. Look forward to someday doing some other N.Conway aid routes.
