Ascent Note
Love this route. The only real 5.9-ish part is the move up and past the first bolt on the slab at the start. After that it's 5.7 at the most. You can fit a couple of nuts into a pair of pockets that are side by side another few feet up to protect the otherwise run-out moves to the flake/crack leading to the 2nd bolt. Nice and airy for the upper half but not too hard.

loads of fun. used to have contests to see who could do the most laps on this before their arms pumped out into uselessness.

Ascent Note
Very fun route, but some dicey pro -- mostly small wires but they're pretty solid. Interesting moves.

Ascent Note
Very fun route, as I recall. Good pro the whole way. Fun move over the lip above the belay at the start of P2.

we did this sometime in '77; can't remember the exact date. took my first leader fall out of this sucker -- just as I reached for the mantle all the way down almost to the belay. thank goodness that #5 hex held!

That 5.6 chimney you take for P1 was the hardest damned 5.6 I've ever been on! It's worn so slick from water you couldn't get Super Glue to stick to it!

Ascent Note
First "real" route I was ever on, while being instructed by Rick & John. I've been on it countless times since then and it's still lots of fun. Calling variation #1 on the 2nd pitch 5.10b is a real stretch, though; more like 5.9+, or 5.10a if you're really short. Don't know if I'm still flexible enough for the put-my-foot-by-my-ear-and-stand-up-on-it move that's needed on the 2nd pitch, but I'd like to find out!
