4 out of 5 stars short and sweet. climbs like a route, but hey, it's the new..
-
thomas- thx for the comments. it is a bit dark, but looks fine on my monitor if the contrast is set properly. The last seconds are just a short trailer i thought i'd start putting at the end of all my vids. sort of like a signature--maybe it's stupid and i'll take it off eventually..
-
thomas- it was his first go and he never saw anyone on it, but there was chalk and he felt the lower holds.

So i'm not sure which it is.... what do you think?
-
what a great problem! I like his beta too- never seen it done that way. Does the vid have sound or are my speakers just not working?
-
turnclimber- thanks! croc block is such a great looking line. my vid doesn't even do it justice.
-
kinz/zak- My video is the direct line (aka path of least resistance) out of the scoop. How can you walk up to that boulder and not see the direct line with the arete? It's a classic, not an eliminate.

having said that, there is another obvious problem going up the right side of the scoop- that's a nice pure line as well, but not the direct line i filmed.
-
so if the arete is not the direct line, is the direct line an eliminate?
-
what area (country/region) is scassiano located?
-
thomas- yeah the whole climb in a mind game. at the top you're so high you can't safely fall. there's no feet and not much for the hands. It's all about survival at that point. it was gripping just being there.
-
it is an embarassing and ugly send. i make no excuses.
-
thx guys. glad you like to see me stuggle with no finesse. i check that one off and move on. zero style points but maybe some points for effort?
-
crazy looking rock. is it limestone? how long is that route? btw, nice slideshow.
-
one of the sickest videos i've ever seen.
-
haha i used to trudge through the woods looking for boulders when i lived near Nashville- every boulder was just too small.
-
booticoo- thx for the feedback. That's some good stuff to think about- i have a lot to work on. Glad you liked the vid.
-
I hope i get to climb that someday.
-
thx. i like this problem and think it's very photogenic. Since this video was shot, a key hold (tiny crimp) has broken (revealing a big edge) making the problem almost 2 V grades easier.
-
5 out of 5 stars Very inspiring and well done video. Thx for sharing!
-
5 out of 5 stars congrats on a cool video! i could feel the energy during the send. it captures the essence of a boudlering session.
-
yeah it is silly music just to josh my friend jeremiah. i agree it's not my best video but still worth watching especially if you climb at Rocktown
-
5 out of 5 stars sweet looking line! congrats to travis on a nice FA. well done vid too! i know it takes a lot of time to put so much footage together.
-
cool music. nice sending travis!
-
5 out of 5 stars well done! keep it up.
-
5 out of 5 stars very nice problem and video!
-
3 out of 5 stars looks like a great adventure!
-
you guys have some pretty boulders up there!
-
intense!
-
i like the music too
-
I love HP40. That's a cool problem too.
-
nice video- the problems look super fun!
-
FANTASTIC!!!
-
holy kaleidoscope batman! for real, it's cool to see climbing in other countries. looks like a cool bouldering area!
-
at the end of the vid-- i'm only seeing the time and date of the first and third send. where is the documentation for the second send?
-
fun looking line man. the credits at the end are VERY hard to read. more angles of the route would be cool to get too. stick with it.
-
I'd never seen an aid fall before. Awesome footage!
-
i remember that slopey mantle. the topout is definately the crux!
-
that problem is much harder than it looks. I doubt anyone could jump to the top.
-
great vid guys. all those problems look fantastic!
-
i don't see anything either.
-
thanks guys for the compliments!! It's my first route vid- more work than bouldering but it was worth it.
-
climbing hard. nice send and vid!
-
microbarn- thx for catching that. i got it working now.
-
Dale- thx for mixing the tunes for this vid. i think it flows pretty well!
-
cliffhanger- thx for the constructive criticism. Maybe it will help you guys to understand the specific purpose for all my McAfee vids- I was going to make a full length McAfee Knob "video guide". i filmed 25 climbers on over 40 problems and would sell it with a guide at local stores in Virginia- only marketing that local audience. Many of the problems are not necessarily "entertaining" for everyone to watch but i still wanted the problems for my project as they represent problems of all grades and styles in that particular boulderfield. To make a long story short the film never transpired, but i still wanted to post all the problems so McAfee locals would at least have access to them. In a year from now i hope to have 30-40 of these problems all posted under the McAfee section on RC.
-
ClimbinBob- 13b. has permanent draws. 50ft long.
-
erolls- you think the pinch-slide technique is unsafe with an ATC? I was taught that in two climbing gyms and they preferred it over grabbing left hand and letting go of your right to cross over the left (which was more natural for me). btw, he is using a grigri.
-
5 out of 5 stars very professional. nice one Spencer!
-
i'm going to the red in 2 days. it's so pumpy. i'm in trouble cause i've only been bouldering for 2 months.
-
really awesome job syncing music with the climbing.
-
nice send travis!
