I got these shows as part of a sponsorship deal and have been wearing them for a year now. Before that, I was in the Triop Wings, and I still use the Wings in the gym because I don't want to overly wear out my Raps. I have the 2005 Rap model which is slightly different to the one pictured (darker blue). The 2005 model also uses LaSportiva's Vibram rubber. I like Vibram - doesn't roll off small edges.

This shoe fits exactly like the Triop Wings (see my Wings review under the Velcro section for more details) except the quick lacing system allows for a tighter fit. This helped me out on some desperately thin vertical routes I've climbed recently - the foot doesn't rotate in the shoe, plus, it's more secure on heelhooks when you're on the steep.

Since starting to wear this shoe, I've done my hardest sends (mid 5.13 range) which incidently, were kinda slabby where footwork was key. That said, I've done some very steep hard routes as well. I'm not a big one for radically recurved, super agressive climbing shoes - I don't think they're mandatory for climbing steep routes.

I can't really think of any way you could improve this particular shoe. It's a great all-rounder, and I would suggest it is the best shoe that Triop currently make (I have worn them all).
