The discovery of great rock just 1.5 hours from Salt Lake City in one of the most scenic settings around has given locals "gold fever" and development has been fast paced/ There are now over 20 separate areas and almost 400 routes in this amazing high altitude ecosystem. While summer temperatures reach the triple digits in the Salt Lake valley, temp's in the Uintas are typically 20-30 degrees cooler. Add the cool temp's with scenic forests of pine and aspen, craggy peaks reaching over 13,000 feet and hundreds of beautiful alpine lakes ... it's no wonder that locals have been heading to the high country in droves.
