This is a handsome light weight pack. Carries pretty well. The chassis is light but works nicely.
I had hoped to use this pack as my daily crag pack for rock climbing. Unfortunately, the pack comes up short in two ways. I pack my bag full and throw it around. After 2-3 days of use, multiple small holes appeared on the base. The material on the base of the pack is not sturdy enough for rugged use. My previous Bomb pack by Dana Design survived almost six years with the base fully intact intact.
The second shortcoming of this pack is it's volume. With 40 L you really can't fit your rope, rack, and other items inside.
Again, this is a great pack for light hiking. But if you are looking for a crag pack for rock climbing, I would keep on looking. Make sure the base if made of durable ballistic material and you get a 50 L pack.
