is it wrong to get sentimental about a water bottle? i don't think i'm the only one; if you haven't duct taped some webbing onto the sides, you haven't lived : ) ps: after long research LOL, i suggest running webbing down the sides, not the bottom, then doubling it back up and taping over that; webbing on the bottom=doesn't stand up straight

Well, you can drop one of these bad boys from the top of the grand canyon and it'll probably live to hold your favorite beverages. On the flip side, these bottles are made of some of the most toxic types of plastic known to humanity. Enviromentalist rock climbers be advised.

this product is the greatest thing ever made. I love mine and i have a collection of them. they last for ever and withstand pretty much anything. Great for anything hot or cold and if you don't want a wide mouth then buy the narrow mouth one. there is also a spill gaurd that is great for things like climbing. Highly recomended and cheap.

Pros:
1. Environmentally sound (refillable, no waste)
2. Longevity/durability
3. Dishwasher safe (sort of)

Cons:
1. Claims of HDPE leaching carcinogens (don't store anything in them long-term)
2. Relatively heavy compared to Nalgene's collapsible canteen product, which is also cheaper.
3. Lids are expendable, go ahead and buy some extras. If they don't fall below the D/W rack and melt, they strike a rock and split, or they just loosen and come off.

Verdict: Perfect for drinking water at the office and for weekend cragging. There are better options for alpine/lightweight applications.
