Gray's Peak

Gray's Peak

Gray's Peak is #9 on Colorado 's list of 14'ers. At 14,270 ft it has awesome 360 degree views. Get there via exit 221 off of I70 heading West from Denver. The town of Bakerville is mentioned at, but all I saw was an old fireplace and 2 houses. I recommend 4wd to get up to the trailhead, but you can do without as long as it's dry. Camping is at about 11,000 feet or so. 3,000 feet elevation gain. Not a climbing route, just a great hike. BONUS - you can also do Torrey's Peak and claim 2 14ers in 1 day, if you're up for it. Be prepared for thin air, if you're not used to it, and be sure to take water, snacks, appropriate weather gear, etc etc
