View from the Toboggan Ledge at the Kelowna Crags Average Rating = 3.33/5 View from the Toboggan Ledge at the Kelowna Crags
The view from the Toboggan Ledge is truly spectacular. Sitting upon my boulder, I couldn't help but take a picture to capture the sight before us, on such a gorgeous day.

Our Friend the Snake Average Rating = 2.75/5 Our Friend the Snake
While climbing on the Kaymore Wall at the New River Gorge, West Virginia, a little copperhead snake decided our rope would be a good place to relax. Maybe he saw some resemblence.

Wetterhorn Peak, SE Ridge Average Rating = 3.83/5 Wetterhorn Peak, SE Ridge
The route goes up the left skyline, and in front of the shiprock and through the second notch to the crux. The crux consists of 150 feet scrambling up good sized sandy ledges over ~1200' of exposure. Even a few steps off route will have you making 5th class moves, and the crumbly rock probably won't hold a fall. Look carefully for the cairns, many are in unexpected places.

Uh, oh - it's Hard Man! Average Rating = 2.75/5 Uh, oh - it's Hard Man!

Yes, it's Hard Man, a character from the Canadian Alpine Journal in the late 70's and early 80's.

Evidently there is some sort of a time warp happening, because clearly and unequivocally, Hard Man has been modelled after our very own rrrMadame!

Please click here to see the resemblance! To get the full effect, I suggest you right click on the "resemblance" link above, and open it in a separate window so you can see and compare both photos side by side.

You have to agree, it's uncanny!

Note that "Bald Enigma" is an anagram of Adam Bingel - thanks to the brilliant Juliana for that one!

Alpenglow on Courtright Domes Average Rating = 3.33/5 Alpenglow on Courtright Domes
Not much to say here, other than a pretty photo. Alpenglow on some representative Courtright domes. I believe the two in front are Penstemon Dome and Punk Rock, while the big one in the back is Dusy Dome. Photo was taken from our campsite (free and awesome) just off the Maxson Road.

Photo taken by Morgan Brown

Full-sized version is here.

Cook Shelf, near Capitol Reef NP Average Rating = 4.18/5 Cook Shelf, near Capitol Reef NP
Here's the view from this killer area just outside Capitol Reef--find it on the map, you'll be glad you did. The slabby wall at the top of the talus has 4 or 5 nice moderate crack climbs with anchors on top. My friends and I put up these routes in 1996.
