I took this while en route to Whistler a few years back before I had even started climbing. It just blew me away...when we were driving the rock was just glowing in this blueish color it was amazing. Too bad I took this photo through a dirty car window with a dirty lens while driving, but it's still pretty cool. I have a much bigger version if someone wants to use it for a topo.

The hook placements on this pitch seemed pretty secure - I've seen worse...

Brad Stewart leading the second pitch of Desert Solitaire 5.9 A3+. A thin crack in a tight corner, Brad used 9 knifeblades to get through this pitch. To me, it seemed as though this was the most continuously difficult pitch on the route.

On pitch four of the Nose, El Cap loomed above us like a sea of granite, reminding us just how much further we had to go.

the grades in roman numerals are NOT UIAA ratings they are old romanian ratings for free-climbing from I to VI a grade V is about 5.11-ish but it differs from climbing area to climbing areea. the aid rating are also old romanian ratings and are lower than modern aid ratings. for example a romanian A1 means that you can aid from fixed pin to fixed pin without much effort.
