Bouldering in Bathsheba, Barbados
An unusually calm day on the Atlantic side of Barbados allowed me to pull past the roof of this huge undercut coral boulder without being slammed by the usual rough surf. The coral was viscously sharp, and the landing was only a foot or two of water covering slippery rocks. Falling would have ended our vacation for sure! If I had a roll of tape with me, some better footwear, and a first-aid kit, I might have tried for the summit - instead, I gingerly bailed about 6 feet higher, and walked away licking a few nasty cuts on my hands, arms and feet. Thanks to my wonderful wife, Lynn, for capturing the moment on our Canon S-400.
